Hey everyone – me again. As this new year starts, I started to think about how much I did not blog last year. I may change that this year! My first thought of what to post is a summary of the bridal fashion from our wedding last April. What I really enjoyed when planning our wedding was picturing how it would all come together as we created things, found bargains, planned all the details – I had no idea it would turn out as beautiful as it did.
I’ll do another post with more details on the wedding, but for now, this is all the fashion-related stuff from the wedding.
So, of course, let’s talk about my dress first. I’ve probably seen every episode of say yes to the dress, I’ve probably read every bridal or fashion magazine over the last year, and I really went into my dress appointment knowing what I wanted. Lace, open back or keyhole back, tight at the top and trumpet or mermaid-ish bottom. What surprised me about my dress was the amount of bling included. I didn’t really think I wanted any, but once I tried this on I knew it was perfect. I only went to one appointment at J.J. Kelley in OKC, and probably only tried on about 10 dresses. Finding the dress was MUCH easier than finding the husband. 🙂
As far as the groom and groomsmen outfits go – we went with suits from Banana Republic. We thought it would be nice to get suits for each of the guys. Hopefully they wear them again! For the little guys we found matching khaki pants at J. Crew Outlet in OKC. We ordered brown ties for everyone from ties.com.
For the girls – I did lots of research and shopping and finally just bought all the dresses (on sale!) at Dillard’s. It was really fun to see how they all went together once everyone had them on. I asked each girl to wear brown, gold or neutral shoes. Jessica’s dress (to my right) was from the Limited, and Lily’s flower girl dress (far right) was David’s Bridal.
Our moms each found their own dresses, my mom’s was from Dillard’s and John’s mom’s was from Anthropologie.
